The Future Press Release Approach

There are many ways for people to set and work towards goals. One approach is for them to write a future press release. This is a starting from the destination type of approach.

Different people use this approach in different ways. Some teams or organisations pick a date in the future. This could be a certain point in a project, the end of the financial year or another date in the future.

People then write a press release describing what they have achieved by that date. They may also describe some of the following things:

The specific things they have delivered – including some of the success stories – and the benefits of achieving these results;

The specific strategies they followed – such as the actual things they did – to achieve these results;

The specific other things that may have happened – such as outside events – along the way towards achieving these results.

They may conclude the press release by again describing the results that were delivered and also making any potential recommendations for the future.

People who use the press release approach can find that it helps to brings their aims to life. They may also develop the press release as circumstances change. People then keep working to achieve the picture of success.
